Lindsey Vonn, the legendary American alpine skier, has stunned fans with an unexpected announcement regarding her skiing career. At 40, Vonn made a remarkable return to competitive skiing after a six-year hiatus, during which she underwent multiple knee surgeries, including a total knee replacement.
Her comeback culminated in a historic achievement at the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho, where she secured second place in the Super-G event. This podium finish not only marked her first since returning from retirement but also made her the oldest woman to ever medal in a World Cup race.
Reflecting on her journey, Vonn expressed immense satisfaction, stating that she had “proved everyone wrong” regarding doubts about her return. She now sets her sights on competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo, aiming to add another chapter to her illustrious career.
