The “Pink Pony Club” singer, who has seen a spectacular rise to stardom this year, went viral after she talked at the presidential campaign in an interview in The Guardian published on Friday, September 20.
NEW YORK (AP) — DETROIT The breakout pop star Chappell Roan, who has been openly battling her growing notoriety in recent weeks, has withdrawn from this weekend’s All Things Go music festival.
“I am sorry to everyone who had been anticipating my performance at All Things Go this weekend in NYC and DC, but I am unable to make it. I am truly feeling like things have grown stressful these past few weeks,” Roan wrote on Instagram on Friday.
Roan revealed why she had not endorsed any candidate yet, and specifically not Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris, saying: “there’s problems on both sides. …I urge everyone to use critical thinking and to cast a ballot.”
She was scheduled to play as part of the festival on Saturday at Forest Hills Stadium in New York and on Sunday at the Merriweather Post Pavilion outside of Washington.
