Kelly Rowland claims that when in Cannes security, she “stood my ground.”
Following her public outburst for insulting a security guard during the Cannes Film Festival, Kelly Rowland is standing up for herself.
At the amfAR Gala on Thursday, Rowland said to The Associated Press, “The woman knows what happened, I know what occurred.”
The former member of Destiny’s Child caused a stir on Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival when she seemed to swear at a security guard while she was walking the red carpet. She was attending the premiere of “Marcello Mio.”
Rowland can be seen posing and waving to fans on the carpet in a number of pictures. But things changed when she ascended the steps with the assistance of a female security guard.
An insider told the magazine, “Kelly was trying to ignore the aggressive behavior of the staff who are assigned to help stars walk the red carpet.” When Kelly tried to wave to admirers and assist the paparazzi in getting a picture, Rowland reprimanded her and instructed her to move, so by the time she reached the final woman, she had lost it.
According to the Daily Mail, the singer and actress became irritated after the security guard became too “aggressive” toward her.
“It is that simple—I have boundaries and I stick to them.”
