One of the newest members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, actor Will Poulter, is talking candidly about his role in the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”
In the third film in the James Gunn-directed movie series, Poulter—who most recently starred opposite Michael Keaton in the Hulu series “Dopesick”—plays the superpowered, artificially produced “perfect human,” Adam Warlock.
The character debuted in Marvel Comics in 1967, and the last time we saw her, she was still in a cocoon. This occurred during the mid-credits sequence of the 2017 film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
June 2021 saw Poulter’s audition for the part, and in September of the same year, she was chosen for it.
In an interview with ABC Audio on Wednesday, the actor discussed his upcoming thriller “The Score” and mentioned how “very enjoyable” it was to work on the Marvel movie, which just finished filming.
“I am really happy that I was invited on this ride, even though it is been a bit of a rollercoaster,” Poulter remarked. “The ‘Guardians’ clan is this incredible, incredibly strange group, and I am so honored and appreciative to have been accepted into it.”
Recently, Gunn posted pictures from the last day of filming and revealed that he had to suppress the urge to cry as the trilogy came to an end.
Poulter responded, “Yeah, I can imagine it is really emotional for him.” “A journey of around ten years, you know.”
Poulter described Gunn as “such a talented person, such a beautiful guy, so fun to work for,” and expressed “an tremendous amount of respect and affection” for him.
On May 5, 2023, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will be released in theaters.
