On the eve of the franchise tag deadline, a decision has been made following a hectic few weeks involving the circumstances surrounding New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. The New York Post’s Ryan Dunleavy reports that Jones and the Giants have reached a long-term agreement.
Soon after, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo updated the contract terms, stating that it is a four-year agreement worth $160 million with $35 million in incentives.
With first-year head coach Brian Daboll, the 2019 sixth overall pick revitalized his career after a rough first few years in the NFL. In the Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings, Jones ran for 708 yards and seven touchdowns on 120 runs after throwing for 3,205 yards with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions to help New York secure a postseason berth.
