Jayson Tatum and the Celtics persevere, edging past the Timberwolves in…
The Boston Celtics will start getting ready for the postseason after winning their final regular-season game against the Toronto Raptors on April 7.
The Celtics’ main objective has always been to make the playoffs, as they came into the season coming off a devastating six-game NBA Finals loss to the Golden State Warriors.
But after Boston’s most recent victory, Jayson Tatum addressed the media about the effort his team has been making over the last year and then issued a warning to the rest of the NBA, saying that the Celtics have been working and waiting for this chance.
Tatum stated that the finest teacher is experience. We as a group have experienced a great deal during the past two years. In addition to our many accomplishments, we have also failed and failed together. In essence, we worked hard during the offseason and preseason and enjoyed a successful regular season. Even if we still have one game (left), I think it is worth it to reach this stage, return to the postseason, and have another chance. This is the time that we have been waiting for, been working for.”
Tatum scored 21 points, pulled down three rebounds, and distributed four assists in his 19 minutes of action against Toronto. He also shot 58.3% from the field but was 0-for-5 from three-point range.
During the battle versus Toronto, Sam Hauser startled the Celtics bench and their fans when he registered three dunks, with one of them being through contact during a fast break.
Hauser described to the media, following the game, what it was like to witness his teammates’ bench cheering his on-court accomplishments, given that he is not particularly known for dunking.
“Everyone gets excited when you do something that you do not do very often; even when I watch other people do things, I get excited,” Hauser remarked. Thus, I am relieved that they made some movement. It is also great to see them enjoying something I accomplished.
