Jaden Rashada Shocks Football World: Decommits from Texas to Join Powerhouse Team at Miami”
The Miami Hurricanes snagged their highest-rated quarterback in the 2023 class on Sunday afternoon, as four-star recruit Jaden Rashada announced his commitment to Miami live on CBS Sports HQ after an official visit to Coral Gables last week.
“When I went to Miami the second time, it just felt like home,” Rashada stated on CBS. “I suppose that is what triggered it a little bit because Miami has a California vibe. Two successful coaches who can demonstrate that their focus is on winning are Coach Gattis [and] Coach Cristobal.
Rashada is the only other signal-caller in the class, joining three-star prospect Emory Williams, who made a commitment to the Canes on Monday.
Fans of Miami football were not surprised by the decision. On 247sports.com, four “lead experts” have made crystal ball predictions in recent days that Rashada will travel to Miami.
Rashada, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound athlete, has performed exceptionally well in high school, throwing for 2,220 yards and 27 passing touchdowns at Pittsburg High School this past season. Prior to a brief stay at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, he was a student at Liberty High School in Brentwood, California. He participated in a variety of sports throughout high school, including baseball.
Scouts claim that Rashada is incredibly mobile and strong in the arms, which allows him to avoid rush situations and prolong plays, giving him more time to complete his progressions and make the correct throw.
