In a gesture of gratitude towards the university that influenced his career, four-time Super Bowl champion and renowned NFL quarterback Donovan Edwards has contributed $50 million to the Michigan football program. Edwards, who is a partner at Liquid2 Ventures, has provided further.
Donovan Edwards, a running back for Michigan, called an antisemitic comment he posted on his Twitter profile a “glitch” and said he dislikes hate speech and stereotyping. In a tweet Thursday morning, Edwards provided an explanation.
“Jewish people will literally tell you that they want you to slaughter your own and degrade your women merely because they have children to feed,” according to the purportedly posted tweet by Edwards. The tweet included Charlamagne tha God’s interview with a music executive and Ye, who was then known as Kanye West, during his “Drink Champs” interview.
Due of the comments, Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown and Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald both cut ties with Ye’s Donda Sports agency over the week. Ye has lost the majority of his footwear business to a number of sneaker titans.
One of the few individuals that has stood up for Ye is Antonio Brown. This season, Edwards, a sophomore, participated in five games for the Wolverines, who are unbeaten. In addition to eight catches for 89 yards and a receiving score, he has 307 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
