I’ am Reggie Gilliam. Here’s Why I Signed to Buffalo Bills Football 2025 recruiting class
The Buffalo Bills signed fullback Reggie Gilliam on Sunday, August 7, even though the team is still waiting for extension-hungry starters like tight end Dawson Knox and All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer, who have a number of important players approaching the final year of their contracts this season.
The Bills announced that Gilliam, who they signed as an undrafted free agent back in 2020, inked a two-year deal to keep him under contract through the 2024 season.
Mike Garafalo of NFL Network tweeted, “The #Bills are signing FB Reggie Gilliam to a two-year extension worth up to $5.2 million,” in reference to the Toledo alum’s salary. The same agent that represents Gilliam’s former college teammate, Dionte Johnson, the standout wide receiver for the Steelers, who also received an extension this week, is Brad Cicala of QC Sports.
That is a significant increase that would indicate a move up from 24th in success rate to third and from 23rd in expected points added (EPA) per carry to 14th.
The fullback made 16 appearances in the previous season, including five starts. The 24-year-old has participated in 30 games since joining Buffalo, including five postseason games. Gilliam played 315 special teams snaps during the 2021 NFL season, ranking second only to Tyler Matakevich.
On Sunday, Ken Dorsey, Buffalo’s new offensive coordinator, offered his thoughts on Gilliam’s deal. According to what Bills reporter Maddy Glab tweeted, he stated, “Gilliam is someone who is down to do whatever to support the team’s success and has outstanding brains.”
