The 19-year-old lost it at that point and expressed it verbally. “How is this fair? She walked over to talk about four times and she is never ready when I am serving. You only gave her a time violation once.” Gauff shouted at the referee.
Gauff responded to the chair umpire’s response by saying, “No, it is not like we are playing extended points; you are calling the score after the point is over. Six seconds after the point has ended, you are calling the score!
