Wilkerson will not entertain other colleges and intends to completely stop recruiting.

Wilkerson told CaneSport, “Coach (Alex Mirabal), my position coach, was a huge major part of why I committed (to Miami).” “Coach (Mario) Cristobal, who is also an O-lineman, and I simply sensed the love from the first day.”

Even though they did not know who I was, I was receiving love from many position coaches when I went up there for the first time and was not even offered or being actively recruited at the time. I knew they would be at the top of my board for a while when I was eventually offered.

Wilkerson claimed that he debated between Rutgers and Miami before deciding on the Hurricanes on Monday night. Despite his obvious preference for the Hurricanes on his official visit, he said that a phone conversation with Mirabal on Monday sealed the deal.

“They said they loved my hard work, my athleticism, and the fact that I am a large person with a lot of mobility,” Wilkerson said. “They take pride in hiring large men who are diligent workers off the field and have mobility.”
