Miami has lost its second marquee defensive commit of the week with less than 24 hours until the early signing period begins. Gavin Nix announced his flip to Oregon on Tuesday afternoon. Nix, a four-star linebacker out of IMG Academy, originally named the Hurricanes on July 1.
Nix’s commitment moves Oregon ahead of LSU to the No. 6 class in the nation. He is the second four-star linebacker to join the Ducks’ class alongside Nasir White (Mater Dei).
Nix, originally from Kissimmee, is the No. 22 overall player in the USA Today Florida Top 100 and the No. 4 linebacker. He is rated as a composite four-star on 247Sports, and is the nation’s No. 24 ranked linebacker.
