F1 News: In his quest for the 2025 seat, Mick Schumacher is scheduled to conduct alpine tests.
According to Motorsport, Mick Schumacher, a current Mercedes reserve and former Haas F1 driver, is set to demonstrate his skills in an important test with the Alpine team as the competition for a spot in the 2025 Formula 1 lineup heats up. The Alpine A522 will be driven by the German driver on July 3 at the Paul Ricard circuit.
Beyond the Formula 1 races, Schumacher is involved with Alpine because he races in the World Endurance Championship in their Hypercar program. But this test is very important since it might decide his destiny if he returns to Formula One. Given that Pierre Gasly’s contract expires after 2024 and Esteban Ocon is expected to leave Alpine at the end of this season, the team is carefully considering its options.
Alpine has also brought in Jack Doohan, their Australian test driver, for the same testing session at Le Castellet, setting the scenario for a direct comparison that could impact their future lineup.
In the meanwhile, there is still a lot of speculation and movement in the driver market. Carlos Sainz continues to play a significant role in these dynamics, drawing interest from teams such as Williams and Sauber/Audi in addition to Alpine. Industry insiders are keeping a tight eye on this continuing reorganization, especially when teams like Audi, who will take over Sauber in 2026, make key additions like Nico Hulkenberg from Haas and Red Bull junior Liam Lawson.
