FLIP COMMITTS:Lindsey, a 5-Star recruit from Alabama, Switched his Commitment to Auburn….
Another well-known name has joined Auburn’s 2024 class.Four-star defensive end TJ Lindsey was added to the Tigers’ roster of commits on Saturday, just one week after they signed fellow Rivals150 prospect Jalewis Solomon.
Lindsey remarked, “Auburn is just a fantastic fit all around,”“I think I had greater chances here.Fresher and younger, Auburn is undoubtedly making a comeback.
Lindsey knew almost little about Auburn and defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett when he received his initial offer from Auburn in January.Although Lindsey and Garrett’s bond deepened over the months, they barely spoke about football.
Lindsey remarked, “Coach Garrett really helped,”Since January, we have been in contact. When we initially spoke on the phone, we discussed football.Since then, we have not discussed football. We constantly talk about life for thirty to forty-five minutes.
He will now have the opportunity to work with Garrett and head coach Hugh Freeze, who played a key role in his hiring.According to Lindsey, “Coach Freeze has been a significant part of my process since the beginning,”“I have never encountered a more amazing head coach.”
An additional component? The Auburn fan base and his official visit.According to Lindsey, “Going there was also a tremendous help,”“Until I went there, I had no idea if I would go there. They were exaggerated by the supporters. Those folks are insane.
Originally from Bryant, Arkansas, the 6-foot-5 defensive lineman spent the offseason at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Before enrolling early at Auburn, he will play his final year with some of the best in the country.“You can expect a baller,” Lindsey commented.“We are going to dominate the SEC, and I am coming to play.”
