A tense night at Ball Arena took an ugly turn when a fan hurled a beer can at a Denver Nuggets player following the team’s narrow victory in a hard-fought game. The incident occurred just moments after the final buzzer, as the Nuggets walked off the court with a slim margin win.
Security footage captured the can being thrown from the lower stands, narrowly missing Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr., who had just wrapped up a post-game interview. The projectile landed near his feet, prompting startled reactions from players and arena staff.
“It’s disappointing,” said Nuggets head coach Michael Malone in the post-game press conference. “Emotions run high, but there’s no place for that kind of behavior in sports.”
No injuries were reported, and arena security quickly identified and escorted the individual responsible out of the building. According to team officials, the fan is now facing a permanent ban from Ball Arena and may be subject to further legal action.
The NBA is reportedly reviewing the incident, and a formal statement is expected within the next 24 hours.
Despite the disturbing event, the Nuggets celebrated a hard-earned victory that keeps them in playoff contention. Star center Nikola Jokić led the team with 28 points and 12 rebounds.
Fans and players alike are calling for greater security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
