Daily Report:ESPN’s updated 2025 NBA Draft Big Board includes 5 Kentucky players
Even though Kentucky’s run of first-round NBA Draft selections is probably coming to an end this summer, a few Wildcats will still make it to the major leagues around this time next year.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony revised his 2025 NBA Draft Top 100 prospect rankings on Saturday morning. Although none of the five current Wildcats placed higher than 60th, they were all listed. The two rounds of this year’s NBA Draft will provide 59 total selections. John Calipari’s first season as head coach in 2010 was the last time a former player from the UK was selected in the first round.
The Wildcats that ESPN reported in early December are somewhat different from this bunch. Only four Kentucky players made it into the Top 100 at the time. Garrison was taken off the list after being ranked No. 81 in the prior update, while Carr and Williams were added after missing the previous one.
NBA front offices appreciate Brea’s skills because of his three-point shooting. This season, he is shooting an SEC-best 47.2 percent from outside the arc and averaging 11.2 points per game. Despite his ups and downs this season, Robinson has demonstrated a great deal of pro promise in recent games.
Despite continuing to display NBA-caliber skills, Oweh’s stock fell in this ESPN report. Finally, Carr is comparable to Williams in that he is a respected shooter who can spread the floor with his passes.
Other prominent non-Kentucky players on ESPN’s Top 100 Big Board are Auburn center Johni Broome (No. 53), Illinois wing Will Riley (No. 28), Arkansas center Zvonimir Ivisic (No. 55), Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier (No. 43), Arkansas guard Boogie Fland (No. 32), and Arkansas wing Adou Thiero (No. 23).
