In response to a modified version of the “Wicked” movie poster, Cynthia Erivo describes it as the “wildest, most disgusting thing I have ever seen.”
The Oscar-winning actress posted an altered version of the movie poster on her Instagram story on Wednesday. This version of the poster is meant to seem more like the legendary Broadway show poster.
Notably, Erivo’s green-skinned role as Elphaba in the film adaptation is hidden from view on the Broadway show is poster. Erivo is shown in the official poster for the next movie, which is helmed by Jon M. Chu, with his face fully visible.
“This is the most insulting, insane thing I have ever seen. It is on par with that horrible AI that was watching us fight and the ones that ask me if my ***** is green.” The 37-year-old Erivo wrote next to the altered photo. “This is not funny at all. It is all not cute. It makes me feel inferior. It diminishes us.”
