Congratulations:Tennis Star Coco Gauff Breaks History as the First U.S. Tennis Player to Qualify For 2025 Olympics
Paris is Coco Gauff’s destination! The 20-year-old has mathematically secured her place in the 2024 Olympics, making her the first American tennis player to qualify.
There will be 64 players in the men’s and women’s singles draws at the Olympics. 56 of those 64 players—up to four per country—will advance based on ranking.
In other words, Gauff will still have enough points to qualify even if she loses every game from now until June 10. After testing positive for COVID-19 prior to the competition, she was forced to withdraw from the 2020 Olympics, which were held in Tokyo in 2021.
