Chappell Roan responds to the Harris/Walz reportedly being inspired by him.
“There is a Kamalanomenon,” No, “you may take Walz with you.” Whatever the allusion, Chappell Roan, Tim Walz, and Kamala Harris’s campaign all make sense when together.
However, the Harris/Walz campaign elevated things with its most recent product, a hat that is uncannily similar to Roan’s obsession. So recognizable, in fact, that Roan herself pointed out the parallels.
The merchandise in question is a camouflage baseball cap with the words “Harris Walz” embroidered in a vivid orange hue. It is ideal for those who live in the real world or in the city yet appreciate a rustic look.
A baseball cap with vivid orange writing that is camouflaged is among Roan’s best-selling merchandise items. Is that the only distinction? The phrase “Midwest Princess” on Roan’s hat alludes to The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, her debut album.
Fans immediately made the resemblance when Harris and Walz’s headwear appeared online, and Roan could not help to notice. In a post on X (previously Twitter), she questioned the merchandise, asking, “Is this real?” She then reshared a different post that stated, “How gay do [you] have to be to see hunting colors and believe it is a Chappell Roan thing?”
All of this happened when a common connection between Roan and Walz was discovered online. In allusion to her Missourian upbringing, Roan created the nickname “Midwest Princess.” However, Walz—who was raised in Nebraska and established his career in Minnesota—is also a Midwest Princess in his own right.
