Chappell Roan at the last minute has canceled her All Things Go festival shows scheduled for this weekend in New York City and Washington, citing her mental health.
The “Pink Pony Club” singer posted on her Instagram story on Friday, saying, “I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform.”
“Over the past few weeks, things have become incredibly overwhelming, and I am really feeling it. “I need a few days to prioritize my health since I feel like I have a lot of other things to prioritize right now. When I perform, I want to be fully present and put on the greatest performances I can. I appreciate your comprehension,” she wrote. “Be back soon xox.”
When The Times reached out to Roan and the festival on Friday, their representatives did not immediately respond.
Some social media users expressed their disgust in the 26-year-old openly, while the majority of comments wished her well and hoped she was in good health. According to one TikTok user, “not us finding out Chappell Roan canceled her All Things Go NYC appearance while already on the plane to NYC,” this was one of the “top 10 worst anime betrayals.” Another festivalgoer who claimed to have purchased tickets solely to watch Roan expressed disappointment with the singer’s cancellation, but she wasn’t upset.
