The Boston Celtics have not wasted any time securing their starting lineup and a few key backups for the long run after winning their historic 18th NBA championship last month. Derrick White, a two-time All-Defensive Team starting guard, just signed a four-year, $125.9 million contract extension with the Celtics, which includes a player option, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. According to Wojnarowski, one of the top priorities this summer was to keep White on the roster for a long time. Jump-shooting deep-bench center Luke Kornet signed a new one-year contract with the organization on Sunday, most likely for a veteran's minimum of $2.8 million, according to Wojnarowski. The team had to find frontcourt depth behind 38-year-old primary backup big Al Horford after it was announced that starting center Kristaps Porzingis would be out for five to six months due to a torn retinaculum and a dislocated posterior tibialis tendon in his left leg. The Boston Globe's Adam Himmelsbach recently reported that the Celtics had acquired the $2.1 million team option for swingman Sam Hauser, who shoots 42.4 percent from three-point range, and plan to work out a contract extension with him. Last week, Wojnarowski revealed that Boston plans to sign All-NBA power forward Jayson Tatum, its finest player, to a five-year, super-max contract valued at an estimated $315 million. Wojnarowski said the Celtics inked Jrue Holiday, White's starting backcourt mate, to a four-year, $135 million contract deal toward the end of the regular season in April. Before the Celtics' eventual championship season began last summer, the team's other starters, Jaylen Brown, the MVP of the Finals, and Porzingis signed long-term contracts to remain with the team. Horford has a deal through the upcoming campaign. Since joining Boston via a trade with the San Antonio Spurs during the end of the 2021–22 NBA season, White has become a fringe All-Star candidate....
Read moreI'm Khani Rooths. Here's why I signed to Louisville Cardinals football 2025 recruiting class Pat Kelsey strengthened his roster even further by adding Kasean Pryor just a day ago. Khani Rooths' decision to commit to Louisville and waste any worries about his front court would be the ideal present for him on his birthday today. Rooths is a versatile forward with exceptional talent who can play both ends of the court. His fluid shooting stroke is always evident from the mid-range and behind the three-point arc, and he can rely on his agility to finish at the hoop whenever he wants. Rooths will undoubtedly have many chances to demonstrate his abilities next season with that offensive skill set in a 6'8 frame. ...

That expectation is now a reality, as the Broncos have agreed to terms with Wilson on a five-year contract extension that runs through the 2028 season, Paton announced Thursday. In just a few short months with the Broncos, Russell has already had a dramatic effect on this organization both on and off the field," Paton said in a statement. "His leadership, work-ethic and championship mentality have helped elevate our team in partnership with Coach Hackett, his teammates and the staff. I'd like to thank Greg Penner and our entire ownership group for the support and resources to get this long-term extension done. I also appreciate the collaboration and communication with Russell's agent, Mark Rodgers, along with Rich Hurtado on our staff. We will continue to focus on building and maintaining a championship roster with Russell as our quarterback well into the future." The winningest quarterback in NFL history through his first 10 seasons, Wilson is set to begin his first season with the Broncos after spending a decade with the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson joined the Broncos in March in a blockbuster trade that sent waves through the NFL and reshaped both the Broncos' roster and the AFC West landscape. "This is an exciting day for the Broncos and our fans as we announce a long-term commitment to Russell Wilson as our franchise quarterback," Penner said in a statement. "I want to commend George Paton and his staff for their hard work and diligence in reaching this agreement, which has been a top priority for our organization. In addition to being a terrific quarterback and winner, Russell is a dynamic leader whose positive impact is felt throughout our entire team and community. Our organization is fully committed to winning and competing....
