Breaking:FORMER ALABAMA FIVE-STAR QUARTERBACK SIGNEE JULIAN SAYIN TRANSFERRING TO OHIO STATE Five-star quarterback Julian Sayin (6-1, 195) of Carlsbad, California, who signed with Alabama in the 2024 recruiting class and registered on the transfer portal on Friday, said on Sunday that he would be starting his college career at Ohio State. Sayin, the class's fifth-ranked prospect and number one quarterback, had originally signed with Alabama and attended Crimson Tide classes before using the transfer portal after Nick Saban retired and former Washington head coach Karen DeBoer was hired. After Sayin committed to the Crimson Tide on November 2, 2022, Ohio State made an unsuccessful attempt to sway him from Alabama by making an offer last January. Ohio State had previously locked in on five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola (6-3, 230) of Buford, Georgia, under center in the 2024 recruiting class before. Sayin competed for 70.7 percent (502 of 7010) of his throws over his three years as a Carlsbad starter, throwing for 7,824 yards and 85 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions. He was crowned the best quarterback in his class after rushing for 548 yards and nine more touchdowns. Sayin's addition is probably going to cause some disruption in Ohio State's quarterback room, which now includes Noland, who just started attending school at Ohio State, returning quarterbacks Devin Sayin would undoubtedly be in the running for 2025 and beyond, which would make other younger quarterbacks on the squad reevaluate their options, even though Howard is seen to be the most probable candidate to start this next season.

Offord switched his pledge from Ohio State to Oregon during a three-team competition for the five-star cornerback that increased in intensity as the Early Signing Period approached. At Birmingham (Ala.) AW Parker High School on Wednesday, the No. 20 overall player in the Rivals250 signed a contract with the Ducks. Offord told Rivals that Dan Lanning and the Ducks' staff had been pushing him well into his senior year. "Oregon -- they have been recruiting me since they offered me," he said. Since they made me an offer, they have been hiring me. I simply consider myself fortunate and do not take anything for granted. The five-star cornerback has visited Oregon on multiple times, including this summer and when the Ducks returned to Eugene for their historic early-season victory over the Buckeyes. Despite committing out of state to the Buckeyes in January, Offord has persisted in exploring both Auburn and Oregon to the fullest. Offord stated, "They are making it difficult for me," in reference to the Ducks....
Read moreCommitment Breakdown: Ohio State lands five-star 2024 WR Jeremiah Smith.... The Buckeyes' pipeline from South Florida to Ohio is still robust. Jeremiah Smith, another five-star receiver from the Miami area, committed to Ohio State on Wednesday night. It does not get much greater than this when it comes to recruiting noise. Smith is ranked second in the nation and the top receiver in the 2024 class. Smith possesses all the necessary skills as a receiver: size, speed, hands, and athleticism. Smith will compete for a roster position from the first day on school, regardless of the prospects who came before him. The athletes selected from Florida are largely responsible for the Buckeyes having the third-best recruiting class in the country in 2023. Five-star receivers Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate are at the top of that list. This might help the Buckeyes seal the deal if anyone was concerned that Inniss might flip to Miami. Beyond his contributions on the field, Smith's dedication also extends to the message he delivers to other 2024 recruits....

In addition to getting ready for the 2024 College Football Playoff, the Ohio State Buckeyes are working diligently on the transfer site. Unfortunately, it looks like they might lose one of their own players. On Monday, quarterback Air Noland accessed the transfer portal, prompting Jeremiah Smith to send him a three-word message. After committing to the Buckeyes in April 2023, Noland did not play for them during the 2024 season. Since he is still a young player and a true freshman, he decided to use the transfer portal to see if he could find a new team where he would play. Although it might not seem like much because Noland did not play, he bonded with his teammates while he was a student at Ohio State. Smith, their standout wide receiver, sent Noland a brief note after learning of his transfer portal choice. Smith and Noland became great friends after they both made their Ohio State debuts in the same recruiting class. While Noland spent his time tethered to the bench, Smith has been one of the Buckeyes top offensive playmakers, as he's hauled in 57 passes for 934 yards while scoring 11 total touchdowns....

There will be a lot more returning talent for Ohio State going into the 2024 season than many anticipated. TreVeyon Henderson, a running back, made an announcement on Friday that he would be returning to Columbus, becoming the most recent Buckeyes star to do so. Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, a former Ole Miss running back, are set to establish the nation's top rushing combo. In 2023, Henderson made ten appearances and ran 156 times for 926 yards and 11 touchdowns. Following his unexpected decision to leave Ole Miss, Judkins announced his commitment to Ohio State on Monday night. Judkins had 1,158 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2023 after rushing for more than 1,500 yards as a freshman in 2022. While star receiver and presumptive top-five pick Marvin Harrison Jr. declared for the NFL Draft, the theme of Ohio State’s offseason so far has been about players eschewing the draft and returning to school. Edge rusher JT Tuimoloau also said he was coming back this week after posting five sacks and seven tackles for loss in 2023. Tuimoloau will return for his senior season on a defensive line that also brings back Jack Sawyer. Sawyer was one of the first Buckeyes to say he was coming back for 2024 earlier this month. Sawyer had 10 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 2023. Five of those six sacks came over the final three games of the season. DL Tyleik Williams is back too. He had 10 tackles for loss in 2023.
