Breaking:Top-200 EDGE Herbert Scroggins signs with Miami Hurricanes: ‘I’ve got a bright future ahead, and I want to be coached by the greatest’
Top-200, four-star EDGE In addition to being one of the Hurricanes’ most eager new additions, Herbert Scroggins III has more than proven himself to be among the best in the nation.
He is officially now, yes. After being loyal to the Hurricanes since late June, Scroggins, the No. 193 overall prospect and No. 20 EDGE in the On300, formally signed today to join Miami’s 2025 class. A consensus four-star recruit, the 6-foot-2, 235-pound prospect ended the regular season as Georgia’s leading sacks.
Scroggins has played as a standard defensive end, an outside linebacker, and a stand-up EDGE. His dedication was influenced by his friendship with Jason Taylor as well as his excitement about Miami’s program’s positive trajectory. Through the fall, he stayed loyal to Miami.
After committing, Scroggins remarked, “Tell them I am home.” “You already know I am going to be back there getting that sack when that third and long arrives.”
Before Miami had a big impact on his official visit, Auburn was considered the team to beat in his recruitment. He claimed that his trip to Miami in June gave the Canes the boost they needed.
Following his formal visit, Scroggins’ discussions with Taylor and head coach Mario Cristobal essentially sealed the deal. Although Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia Tech did keep in touch for a while, there was never a serious danger to convince him to leave the Hurricanes. Scroggins, however, held firm throughout.
