Breaking:Tennessee lands another 5-star commit with No. 1 in-state player picking Lady Vols
Kim Caldwell, the coach of the Tennessee Vols women’s basketball team, is having the best time on the recruiting trail right now.
Really, it is impossible to stop Caldwell and her team from snagging some of the nation’s best prospects.
Well, you may expand the list to include another outstanding playmaker. Five-star point guard Lauren Hurst made the decision to end the game on Monday night, choosing between North Carolina State, Tennessee, and Clemson. The product from Cleveland, Tennessee, just declared that she will be playing for Caldwell and the Lady Vols from home:
Hurts is listed as the nation’s No. 11 power forward and a 5-star playmaker, per 247Sports. Despite the numerous offers she received, she ultimately made the decision that she did not want to go far to play her college ball. She is another outstanding member to Caldwell’s class of 2025.
Tennessee is 4-0 on the court, and Caldwelll’s first season as head coach is going incredibly well. Things are looking really well for the program’s future when you consider that she is also doing a fantastic job with recruiting.
Tennessee will always want to retain the best players when a significant in-state player is involved. There was considerable worry that Hurst may make an announcement for Clemson or NC State, but that did not happen. Bravo to Caldwell and her coaches for winning a major recruitment fight once more. This class of ’25 is truly unique.
