Breaking:Panthers sign LB Chandler Wooten off of 49ers practice squad
Chandler Wooten, a linebacker, has returned to the Panthers. On Tuesday, the organization said that Wooten had been added to their active roster. off 2022 until his release in November, Wooten was a member of the Panthers. He was then cut off the 49ers’ practice squad.
In three Panthers games this season, Wooten has seven tackles. During his first two NFL seasons, he played in 17 games for the team, recording nine tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Wooten gives the Panthers some extra depth for the last two weeks of the season, since they had three linebackers on the roster for their victory over the Cardinals in Week 16.
In his 74 career games, he has made 91 percent of his extra points and 82 percent of his field goals. On Sunday, Carlson missed a 49-yard field goal and an extra point. With Greg Zuerlein on injured reserve, he has participated in five Jets games.
