On Wednesday, Patty Gasso’s winning streak in the hiring process continued. On Twitter, Saint Joseph, Missouri, infielder Lexi McDaniel declared her commitment to Oklahoma.
Extra Innings Softball ranked McDaniel as the top player overall in the 2025 recruiting class last month.
McDaniel played for Aces Fastpitch, which placed second in the 18U Alliance National Tournament. “Lexi has emerged as an elite infielder in what is a deep 2025 class on the top,” Extra Innings Softball wrote. “… With 115 hits, 24 home runs, 19 doubles, six triples, and an incredible 97 RBIs, she batted.491.
Top prospects Sophia Bordi, Kendall Wells, and local product Allyssa Parker have already verbally committed to the Sooners. Additionally, Gasso’s superior recruitment skills extend beyond her assessments of high school potential.
