Breaking:No. 1 America player, DB Ma’khi Jones Commits to Duke Devils over Oregon, Ohio, Texas….
Now that Ma’khi Jones is on board, Manny Diaz and his team at Duke are getting started with the 2025 recruiting class. After considering Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and numerous other schools, the defensive back from Alpharetta, Georgia, Milton declared his commitment to the Blue Devils.
“I established a relationship with Coach Diaz and that staff when they came over from Penn State, so I thought Duke was the place for them,” Jones stated. “I was being recruited from the ninth grade. Why not Duke? is the query. They play Power Five football, are educated, and are athletic. When committing to Duke, it is quite difficult to spot the warning signs.
“I get along well with coach (Harland) Bower, coach Rick Lyster, and coach Gabe Infante,” he stated. “The fact that they pursued me when I was younger and then switched schools while still wanting me demonstrates loyalty. It demonstrates their genuine interest in and desire for me.

Jones clarified that he wants to pursue his friend Jahmir Joseph, a Rivals250 defensive back from New Jersey, and his quarterback Luke Nickel, a Miami commit. Jones recorded 73 tackles, five pass breakups, and one interception during the previous campaign.
