Deion Smith officially reported, and physically stepped foot on campus, at Ole Miss on June 1.After almost two months, he is finally wearing a Rebels uniform.
According to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic, Smith should be able to begin working out with the Rebels tomorrow.Smith is an LSU transfer who plays wide receiver.Fall camp at Ole Miss is in its third week.On July 31, he arrived at preseason training.He has been wearing street clothing, though.
Smith, who stands six feet three and weighs 203 pounds, joins what is undoubtedly one of the top wide receiver rooms in college football.Additionally, after leaving LSU two years ago, he had appeared to be close to enrolling at Oxford.Due to academic difficulties, he spent a year at Holmes (Mississippi) Community College.
Smith previously told the Ole Miss Spirit, “It was a hard process.”“We finished it after much perseverance and grinding, and now it is time to roll.It is been a difficult journey, and for the past few years, Ole Miss has been attempting to win me over.

Smith remarked, “We have the best receiver room in the nation.”“No one can protect us with only one coverage.We are going to travel all the way through the receiving room.As a freshman at LSU, Smith caught 11 passes for 186 yards and two scores in six games.He was the 54th player in his class when he signed in 2021.Smith was Mississippi’s top recruit and the eighth-ranked wide receiver.
Smith remarked, “JUCO helped me get back to myself.”Smith, a Jackson native, led JUCO last season in both receptions (1,063) and yards per game.He accomplished all of this in just eight games, with 12 of his 48 catches going for touchdowns.
