BREAKING:Kirk Herbstreit breaks silence on son committing to Michigan football over Ohio State
ESPN broadcaster and former Ohio State football quarterback Kirk Herbstreit celebrated his son, Chase Herbstreit, announcing his commitment to the Michigan football team. He opened up on that during an appearance on Pardon My Take.
Kirk Herbstreit stated on Pardon My Take, “I have kind of kept out of that environment a little bit.” Because I know that 80% of people are excited and 20% will be jacka****, I have purposefully not seen a lot of reaction. It is one thing to make fun of me, but it is really easy for me to want to fight back if you make fun of my child. So I just do my best to ignore that stuff.
Given his family’s history, it seems sense that Chase Herbstreit grew up as an Ohio State supporter. However, Kirk indicated that the Buckeyes did not pursue him enough. The three-star quarterback was instead offered by Sherrone Moore and Michigan football.
“This child was raised as an Ohio State supporter and, of all my children, he was the one who would cry when they lost games,” Herbstreit remarked. As if he is a huge fan of Ohio State. He was not truly pursued by Ohio State to the extent of receiving a scholarship offer.
It is unclear if Herbstreit will receive any playing time at Michigan football with Bryce Underwood on the way, but he is headed to a happy place nonetheless. Kirk clarified
