Breaking:“I chose Michigan because of how my role would translate to their style,2025 New Zealand forward Oscar Goodman commits to Michigan!!
Oscar Goodman, a forward from New Zealand, is the Wolverines’ second player in the 2025 class. More about the most recent prospect to pledge to play basketball for Michigan and Dusty May:
Oscar Goodman, a forward from New Zealand, committed on Wednesday morning, making him Dusty May’s second recruit in the 2025 class.
He told On3’s Joe Tipton, “I picked Michigan because I could see myself excelling there and how my role would transition to their style of play.” “Coach May is fantastic.” He is really interested in it and explained a lot to me to demonstrate how I would affect the team. I consider myself a versatile player because I can put the ball on the floor, step out and make three-pointers, and take advantage of mismatches with my size. I love to do the little things that do not go on the stat sheet, so the fans can count on me to bring a lot of enthusiasm both offensively and defensively.
The Wolverines faced Ohio State, Georgetown, and Texas Tech in this recruitment, and Goodman visited Michigan in October and had Michigan in his top four.
In a number of FIBA competitions, including as the 2022 U15 Oceania Championship, the U16 2023 Asia Championship, and the U17 2024 U17 FIBA basketball World Cup, Goodman has played for his nation. He helped his nation place fourth in the World Cup with an average of 17 points, 6.3 rebounds, and three assists per game over seven games. He has also participated in a number of NBA Global Academy showcases.
