Tre Poteat, a four-star cornerback, is another high-profile prospect that Tennessee football has added to its recruiting class during official visits in the summer.The standout from the Verona Area (Wis.) is now the 15th commit in the Vols’ class of 2025 recruits.
Poteat just returned from an official visit to the city over the weekend.He was able to become more at ease with the fit both on and off the field as a result.He found a home in Knoxville when it came to off-field fits.
Poteat remarked, “The visit was good.”“I simply had a better understanding of Knoxville.”The people are quite pleasant, and the city is lovely.The players have nothing but positive things to say about it, and they have everything they need to succeed.”

As he has rebuilt the football program, head coach Josh Heupel has taken delight in that sense of real connection.The four-star has been observing and absorbing everything as the Vols have recently been on the rise.He sees a program that is only beginning to realize its full potential as he considers Tennessee’s future under Heupel.
Poteat declared, “Coach Heupel is the finest.”“I see really amazing things for this program now that everything is coming together because of what he is been able to do for it over the previous few years, and he is been able to have success with minimal resources.”
