Breaking:4-Star Big Chamberlain Burgess Commits to BYU, Setting New Record!!
With 2025 4-star frontcourt player Chamberlain Burgess announcing his commitment to BYU, Kevin Young kicked off the 2025 recruiting class.
He is picking BYU over Illinois because of his rapport with the coaching staff and the way the team plays. He adores the culture Kevin Young is creating there and what he has accomplished thus far.
After spending the weekend at BYU, Burgess made a commitment to the school. His other finalist was Illinois. Burgess, who is ranked four stars by ESPN and 247 Sports, is generally regarded as one of the class’ top 150 players. Both his mother Ashleigh and father Josh were BYU basketball players. Chris Burgess, his uncle, is currently an assistant at BYU.
Burgess’s long and athletic body allows him to play either the 4 or the 5. He is a good passer, can space the floor, and can defend the rim. To compete at the high-major level, he will need to put on a little weight, but he has plenty of time to do so—especially given his objective. Although he is not quite as tall as Branden Carlson, a former big man for Utah, I think they are similar in their capacity to run the floor and stretch.
According to Chamberlain, he intends to serve an LDS mission before starting school, thus he would be enrolled in a program in 2027. Highlights of Chamberlain are shown here.
