Breaking News:David Gilmour says he was “bullied” into making Pink Floyd’s final album
He goes on to say that The Endless River was never meant to be a sequel to The Division Bell, which came out in 1994.
According to Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, he was “bullied” into contributing to the band’s 2014 last album, The Endless River. In an interview with the LA Times, Gilmour discloses that the album, which primarily consists of instrumental and ambient tracks recorded during sessions for their 1994 album The Division Bell, was not originally meant to be a formal studio release.

Gilmour continues, “I guess I made a mistake by allowing the record business to intimidate me into releasing it as a legitimately paid Pink Floyd record.” It was never meant to be the sequel to The Division Bell, therefore it should have been obvious what it was. However, it is never too late to fall into one of these traps once more.

Throughout the conversation, Gilmour also talks about Pink Floyd’s $400 million library sale to Sony and why he does not care when the band’s songs are utilized in ways he does not approve of.
“I am an elderly individual. For the past forty-odd years, I have been fighting for the good fight against the forces of avarice and indolence in order to make the most of our resources. The musician adds, “And I have given that struggle up today.”
