Top 20 Transfer Prospect Jaland Lowe Commits to Kentucky
This week has been somewhat turbulent for Kentucky’s transfer site. Top target Yaxel Lendeborg committed to Michigan while still in the draft, and San Diego State Magoon Gwath abruptly decided to stay with the Aztecs. Pitt transfer Jaland Lowe, the Wildcats’ second commit of the portal season, arrived on Saturday morning.
After high school, Lowe committed to Jeff Capel and the Panthers, ranking among the top 100 recruits. Lowe is a 4-star, top-20 transfer prospect following two good seasons in Pittsburgh (EvanMiya). He rises to the top of the Cats’ current commit rankings.

Along with being a dependable 3-point and free throw shooter, he also has fluid jumper mechanics and the ability to play off-ball. Lowe is a legitimate offensive engine as a combo guard, but he needs to improve the efficiency of his entire offensive game in his sophomore year.
Compared to his future NBA teammates, Lowe is not the biggest or strongest guard, but he is cunning and knows how to counter that. He is a fluid lefty who understands how to get to his positions and take advantage of whatever offensive advantage he can get. As a shooter with a long range beyond the arc, he can extend the defense and open up space for teammates and himself.
