Bold Step:OLB Tyler Nubin Bagged a New Deal With New York Gaints….
Tyler Nubin, a second-round safety, signed his rookie contract with the Giants, the team announced on Friday. Consequently, every member of the draft class from New York is currently listed.
During his time with the Golden Gophers, Nubin was named Academic All-Big Ten four times, which improved his on-field performance and raised his draft ranking. Coming off the board 47th overall, he was the first real safety to hear his name called during the 2024 draft (Eagles prospect Cooper DeJean having experience at both that position and corner). In New York, Nubin ought to have an easy route to playing time.
Throughout 2024 and beyond, Nubin will be vying for a spot in Jason Pinnock’s first team. The 6-2, 205-pound player was praised in college for having a wide range of talents, and he should be able to make an immediate impact in the NFL. For at least the next four seasons, New York will have a McKinney substitute if that proves to be the case.
