2019 marked the band’s last tour of Australia.
The Sisters of Mercy, gloomy rock legends, have announced that they will be returning to Australia in October. Five dates have already been scheduled across the nation.
Despite not having put out new music in three decades, Sisters Of Mercy have continued to produce new songs.
According to a statement released today, “new and consequently unreleased songs comprise up half of each Sisters’ set these days, but the classics receive a good battering in rotation.”
Eldritch expressed his opinion clearly in a rare interview with Louder earlier this year.
“I only participate in band activities that I enjoy doing and when I want to,” he declared. And that is never a reaction to what the general public or even the private sector wants. I simply act in my own way.”

This tour will mark the group’s first trip to Australia since 2019, when original member Andrew Eldritch and his group showed Australian audiences why their music is still considered among the best goth (sorry) of the 1980s.
