A heartfelt homage is shared by Stevie Nicks to her “best friend,” Christine Mc….
Following the announcement that keyboardist Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac passed away at the age of 79 following a “short illness,” Stevie Nicks posted an emotional handwritten letter to her friend.
Nicks, 74, referred to McVie as her “best friend in the whole world since the first day of 1975” in the heartfelt remembrance.
The letter has lyrics from the American rock band Haim’s song Hallelujah, which was composed after one of the band members, Alana Haim, lost his companion in an automobile accident.
“I had no idea she was sick.” till a late hour on Saturday.
She continued, saying, “We were ordered to wait, but I wanted to go to London.” Hence, I have had the same music playing nonstop in my head since Saturday. I am singing it to her right now because I thought I might get to sing it to her.
McVie was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away and was described as “a revered musician who was adored globally” in a statement released earlier by her family.
After a brief illness, she died quietly this morning, Wednesday, November 30, at the hospital. Her family was present with her.
“We would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an extraordinary human being,” the family politely requests that you respect their privacy during this incredibly painful period.
Her former bandmates, who called her “the best friend someone could have in their life,” expressed their shock at her passing today.
The British-American rock band was one of the most popular groups of all time, selling 100 million records globally.
