The title that Princess Kate will have when William…
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s son Charles succeeded to the throne at the age of 73 when she passed away quietly at her home at Balmoral in September.
And King Charles III’s head was crowned after the coronation on Saturday, May 6. Per a Palace official, the King and the recently installed Queen said that they were ‘very touched’ by the country’s celebration of their historic event. Their Majesties expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making yesterday’s event so magnificent as well as to the large number of people who came out to show their support in both London and other locations. They said they were extremely touched by what happened yesterday.
Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, is the next in line for the throne; does this mean Princess Kate will now be referred to as “Queen”? Not exactly. It was declared that Camilla will become Queen Consort following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. This was done in the months after her passing to set Camilla apart from the late Queen. But since then, Camilla’s title has been formally upgraded by the Royal Family to Her Majesty The Queen, or Queen Camilla.
The announcement of Camilla’s new title was initially made public on the day of the coronation, when Buckingham Palace welcomed people to see the “Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.” The new title has since been added to Camilla’s page on the official Royal Family website, and the new Queen was also crowned at the coronation. A lot of people have been wondering if Princess Kate will go through the same thing following the title change.
