Breaking:Monroe 4-star Jordan Young signs with Michigan after flipping from Clemson
Michigan will be the destination for one of the top athletes in North Carolina’s 2025 high school class. On Wednesday morning, Monroe High School defensive back Jordan Young signed a contract with the Wolverines. At 11:02 a.m., the Michigan football program made the announcement.
Early in November, Young made a commitment to Clemson; however, on December 1, he said that he had changed his mind and switched to Michigan.
According to the four major recruiting services—247Sports, ESPN, On3, and Rivals—he is a consensus 4-star safety prospect. According to On3, he is the 99th best player in the county. He is ranked No. 107 by ESPN and No. 223 nationally by Rivals.
Young, a four-year varsity player for Monroe, has amassed impressive stats on both sides of the ball. He has 3,286 career all-purpose yards, 25 total touchdowns, and 18 career interceptions and five forced fumbles in addition to his 160 total tackles. Young and Monroe, who is 12-0 overall this season, will play at Shelby on Friday in the fourth round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A West playoffs.
