Breaking:Miami Hurricanes officially signed 3-Star wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw as the early signing period
The Miami Hurricanes officially signed 3-Star wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw as the early signing period for football kicked off this week.
On Wednesday, Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes signed 3-Star wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw, who has been a member of the Hurricanes since July of this year, securing another outstanding player from the 2025 recruiting class.
He is ranked as the No. 22 player in the state and the No. 63 wideout in the country by 247Sports. He attends Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. He is ranked among the top 500 prospects in the country. He received offers from more than 20 Div One schools, but in the end, he decided to join the Hurricanes instead of Texas, Georgia, Florida, and other schools.
Despite being an undersized target at 5’11” and 180 lbs., Upshaw excels in the slot, using his excellent footwork and route running to get open underneath and cause problems for opposing defenses. He also has great straight-line speed, which could make him a threat for deep balls.
Upshaw caught 151 passes for more than 2,600 yards and 34 touchdowns during his three seasons as a member of the Central High School Red Devils. In addition, he saw action as a kick returner, finishing his career with five attempts and just over 200 yards of returns.
According to 247Sports’ composite ranking, the Hurricanes currently have the 13th-best recruiting class in the country, but they may still be able to add more gifted players.
