Dylan Sampson, a junior running back for Tennessee, had a remarkable 2024 regular season. In a single season, the 5-foot-1, 201-pound running back set the following program records: rushing yards (1,485), points scored (132), total touchdowns scored (22), and consecutive games with a rushing touchdown (11).
Sampson had ten 100-yard rushing games in a single season, making him the second player in Tennessee program history to do it. In 1995, Jay Graham scored eleven.
This season, he was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year (AP, Coaches), USA TODAY SEC Player of the Year, All-America Second Team (The Athletic, Walter Camp), and All-SEC First Team (AP, Coaches). On Monday, he met with the media to begin game week ahead of Tennessee’s game against Ohio State in the first round of the College Football Playoffs.
