I’m Bobby Kanka. Here’s why I signed to Michigan football 2025 recruiting class
To kick off the early signing period, Howell native Bobby Kanka, a four-star defensive lineman in the class of 2025, signed with Michigan football on Wednesday. According to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, Kanka is the seventh-ranked player in his class in the state. Among other schools, he received offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Louisville, and Kansas.
In his own words, Bobby Kanka explained why he choose the Wolverines: I am Bobby Kanka, and I am grateful for the chance to represent the University of Michigan in football. I have spent years honing my skills as an offensive lineman and defensive tackle, and at 6′ 5 and 290 pounds, my dedication has now led me to one of the top programs in the country. Finding the ideal fit for my family and me was more important to me than football when I chose Michigan.
My basis has always been my family. My parents, Tom, Bev, Frank, and Emma, as well as my siblings, have been there for me through thick and thin. Their confidence in me and their candid criticism enabled me to assess what was most important to me in this decision. In addition to its amazing history of on-field accomplishments, Michigan stood out due to its proximity, which is very important to us. This decision felt even more meaningful when I considered my family supporting me at the Big House.
Everything I have ever imagined in a university is embodied by Michigan. It provides a football program that competes for championships together with an outstanding education. In addition, I want to play in the NFL, and Michigan has a history of preparing its players for success off the field as well. I found great resonance in the way they support their athletes as individuals and make sure their post-football lives are bright.
