FLIP COMMITS:Quinn Ewers,a5-star recruit from Texas, switched his commitment to Ohio State…..
In a game against Georgia, Ewers led the Texas offense onto the field for their first possession of the second half. The Longhorns started the second half with the football at its 48-yard line, despite Texas’ 23-0 halftime deficit. The quarterback then connected with receiver Isaiah Bond for a score and a two-point conversion after Ewers led a scoring drive.
The Texas Longhorns have resorted to their starting quarterback after benching Quinn Ewers during the first half.
Ewers threw for just 17 yards and made two mistakes during six drives in the first half at Royal-Memorial Stadium. Six out of 12 passes were completed by the third-year starter.
Arch Manning, the backup quarterback who took Ewers’ position, did not perform any better. Manning went 3-for-6 for 19 yards over two possessions before launching a 21-yard dash. Manning fumbled as well. The Austin American-Statesman first published this article: Following an appearance by Arch Manning, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers returns.
