Urgent:Jojo Snow Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition
JoJo Siwa came out as a member of the LGBTQ community about three years ago, and she is now prepared to talk openly about the backlash she faced as a result.
In the first episode of the reality star’s brand-new podcast, which is produced by iHeartMedia, JoJo Siwa Siwa now discusses her coming out story in great detail, considering how she chose to disclose to her fans that she was queer. She recalled, “I think I want to come out to the world,” she remarked on the phone with her girlfriend at the time. “I verified it by posting this image and throwing it on my Instagram Story. I did not give it any second thought.
The reaction, she claimed, were mainly good — but there were still plenty of people who were not thrilled that Siwa was revealing her truth publicly. “There was also a lot of negativity, and I did lose a lot,” she said. “Because that is who I am, I did not care and still do not care about the things and people I lost, including if I lost a significant number of supporters.”
Siwa, 20, elaborated on her point by saying that she had made her career out of “being true” and that her audience was free to leave if they could not handle her sexuality. “You are not supposed to like me even if you did not like me because [one day] I was straight and [the following day] I was gay,” she stated. “I just try to be myself and true to who I am.”
