LEBANON, TENN. — In a thrilling finish, two-time series champion Joey Logano secured his first victory of the season and a berth into the 2024 playoffs by winning the NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 on Sunday at Nashville Superspeedway after a record five overtime restarts.
Logano and his squad Penske squad bet that his No. 22 Ford Mustang had enough fuel for a last push to the checkered flag because the race leaders were losing ground with every late-race restart, which resulted in 31 extra laps and 15 cautions overall that day. With that last gasoline tank, Logano’s No. 22 eventually completed 110 laps.
