“It’s a full flex” – Andre Agassi proudly proclaims wife Steffi Graf as his ‘GOAT’
Andre Agassi proudly declared his wife Steffi Graf as his all-time ‘GOAT’ of tennis alongside a heartwarming trip down memory lane from the German’s record-breaking triumph at the 1988 Olympics.
During her tenure on the tour, Graf won 22 Grand Slam singles titles and is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time.
Over the course of a 16-year career, she won an incredible 107 career titles and held the top spot in the women’s charts for 377 weeks, the longest of any female player.
Graf’s victory as a 19-year-old in 1988, however, will live long in the mind of tennis fans. She became the first player in history to win the Golden Slam.
Anybody who won all four Grand Slams and the Olympic gold in the same year was awarded the Golden Slam, a title that was created by the media at the time. Graf is still the only individual to have accomplished the feat in the history of the sport.
Agassi recently celebrated that historic achievement on Instagram with an archived picture of Graf clad in a German jumpsuit showing off her Gold medal in Seoul.
Responding to fans in the comments area, Agassi mirrored the sentiment of one fan who considered Graf as the ‘GOAT’ of tennis.
