At the age of 97, Doris Day, an actress and singer who appeared in around thirty films and over 600 records, passed away from pneumonia on Monday.
Day began her career in 1939 as a big band vocalist and went on to become one of the most well-known singers and actresses of the 20th century, making 31 album releases and nearly 40 film appearances. Long into the 2000s, she kept putting out albums with fresh content, and this January, she became the oldest living musician to have an album appear in the UK Top 10.
