Urgent:Garry Marx Just Passed Away Recently…..
Chicago Tribune writer Gary Marx (fall 2007) and colleague reporter David Jackson won the 2011 Medill Medal for Courage in Journalism for their series “Across the Border, Beyond the Law.” For the same series, he was chosen a second time as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in investigative reporting. The reporters received praise for “exposing a state judicial system that was so negligent that it permitted hundreds of violent criminals to escape punishment by leaving the country, leading to steps for corrective change.”
