According to David Coverdale, “Deep Purple” “prevented” Ritchie…
Ritchie Blackmore, a guitarist, collaborated with Deep Purple and Rainbow on numerous iconic albums. He did, however, discuss several albums he wishes he had never recorded in a 2017 interview with The Quietus.
Indeed, a lot. The first three records I recorded with Deep Purple are not ones I am very pleased of. They appear to be wandering aimlessly. We were not entirely sure where we were headed and lacked a clear niche. There were good musicians participating and they played well. However, we were not able to think of many ideas. It was excellent, and I adored In Rock.
“I detested the following one, Fireball. One of my worst records was definitely Who Do We Think We Are? because I had no idea what I was doing, we were working so hard, we were constantly on the road, and when we were not on tour, we were sick. Then, in order to fulfill our obligations under the record company’s contract, we had to visit the studio three times a year.
“Perfect Strangers was excellent, in my opinion. However, I felt that The House of Blue Light was awful. I have noticed that there seems to be a pattern of good records followed by terrible records. That appears to be the order. I am not the type to spend time listening to my own music. since I often feel self-conscious and believe that I should have performed better.
