Roger Glover of Deep Purple talks about the reunion with Ritchie Blackmore….
Roger Glover, the bassist for Deep Purple, has heard the talk but says there is no truth to the speculations of a reunion with former guitarist Ritchie Blackmore in a recent interview with Rock Hard Greece.
The bassist responded, “Not a chance,” when asked if there was a chance Blackmore would be making a comeback. We assure you that we are not the source of the rumors. Why in the world would we do that, really? Ritchie was undoubtedly essential to the band and what it has become, and I have the highest esteem for him as a member of the group. But that’s moving backwards. We move ahead instead of backward.
Not only does it not seem as though Blackmore will not be making a comeback, but it also seems as though Glover would prefer that things stay the same for the band until they make the decision to stop touring.
Glover revealed his ideal manner for the band to terminate their touring career, which involves minimal hoopla, in response to the thought of other Deep Purple alumni coming back for a farewell show.
